The gated communities in Hyderabad are turning into Covid hotspots as hundreds of inmates are getting infected with the virus for the last few days. So, the welfare associations are conducting special vaccination drives. As many as 112 cases are reported from My Home Jewel the other day. Hence, its Owners Welfare Association vaccinated 400 residents in a two-day drive held on the 22nd and 23rd of April.
Thereby, My Home Jewel became the first gated community in the city to vaccinate the majority of its inmates. The drive was held at the clubhouse with the support of Hafeezpet Primary Health Centre. Vaccination was given to all the senior citizens and those above 45 years residing in the community.
Meanwhile, several other gated communities especially in the IT corridor are now planning similar vaccination drives with the support of GHMC, nearby hospitals and Primary Health Centres(PHCs).
Besides, Cyberabad Police has also interacted with the management committee members of 100 gated communities over preventive measures. In this virtual meeting, CP Cyberabad has appealed to the respective managements to conduct vaccination drives, audio announcements, ramp up testing and regular disinfection of the communities.
