The hiring activity in the city from July to December of 2021 saw a big jump when compared with the first half (January to June) of 2021. A report by Indeed indicates that the proportion of employers hired during the second half jumped to 53% from 44% in the first half.
The report also suggests that this hiring mostly happened in the junior-level and entry-level candidates, with 66% and 81% of candidates hired respectively during the second half. This number stood at 57% and 69% respectively during the first half.
The reports also reveal that Covid proved to be a catalyst for the employees to re-evaluate and rethink their professional priorities. As many as 71% of employees took part in the survey who said they are rethinking their careers and may even see if an altogether different career is worth pursuing.
This re-evaluation has resulted in three out of ten employees thinking of quitting their current jobs. Moreover, this thought has occurred in a greater proportion among the male employees (about 31%) than the female ones (19%).
