Today, on 30th December, the Cyberabad traffic police have issued a traffic advisory in view of the New Year’s Eve celebrations tomorrow, 31st December.
The Cyberabad traffic police said that the PVNR Expressway will be closed for vehicles except for the vehicles bound towards the Airport and the Nehru Outer Ring Road will be closed except for the vehicles bound towards the Airport from 11 PM to 5 AM.
The traffic police said that certain flyovers will be totally closed on the 31st December night from 11 PM to 5 AM for all vehicular and pedestrian movements.

The traffic police have advised that the taxi/cab/auto-rickshaw drivers should be in proper uniform and carry all their documents. They have also issued an order that no driver should refuse to ride on hire to any public. If any driver is found doing such an act then it is a violation of Section 178 of Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, and a penalty of Rs. 500 will be imposed in the form of an e-challan. The public may send such complaints to the traffic police on WhatsApp 9490617346 with details of place, time, and vehicle number.
The traffic police have also warned the drivers not to demand excess fares or misbehave with the public.
The traffic police said that no pub/bar/club knowingly or negligently should allow their customers to drive under the influence of alcohol from their premises. If any such incident is found, then it will be dealt with strictly as per law and for abetting the crime, the concerned management will be prosecuted.
The traffic police warned the general public that extensive checks would be held across all the roads in Cyberabad limits for Drunk Driving. The traffic police also said that driving without a valid Driving License or minor driving cases will lead to the detention of the vehicle and the owner and driver both will be prosecuted in court. Driving vehicles without number plates will be considered a serious offense and the vehicles will be sent to RTO. Traffic Police will be booking appropriate cases against over speeding, rash driving, dangerous driving, excessive honking, triple/multiple riding, etc Usage of high-decibel sound systems in the vehicles is prohibited and vehicles will be detained and sent to RTO for further action.
The traffic police warned that the Drunk Driving cases under section 185 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 will be booked against each one of the drunk drivers and all of them would be sent to Court in due time. A penalty of Rs. 10000 and/or imprisonment of up to 6 months for the first offense and a penalty of Rs. 15000 and/or imprisonment of up to 2 years for a second or subsequent offense. Also, all their driving licenses will be seized and sent to concerned RTOs for suspension as per section 19 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. For the first offense, the DL will be suspended for 3 months, and for second and subsequent offenses, the DL will be revoked permanently making the person ineligible to drive in India. The police also said that, if any person commits a road accident and causes the death of anybody by driving under the influence of alcohol criminal case will be booked U/s 304 part-II of IPC (Culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and arrested and sent to jail. On conviction, such persons will be punished with imprisonment of up to 10 years.
