Acknowledged as the vaccine capital of the world, Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan said on Monday, Hyderabad has also been adjudged as ‘Tree City of the World’ for 2020 and the “Most Livable City” in the country that makes it a truly global city.
She said, addressing a joint budget session of the State Legislature, with rapid infrastructure development, ensuring proper law and order, and measures to contain pollution levels the whole world is looking at Hyderabad with a lot of interest. Soundararajan also added that according to a report from India Skills 2021, several highly educated and skilled professionals in the country were planning to settle down in Hyderabad in various professions and jobs.
This report was jointly prepared by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), V Box, and Tag Foundation and had once again listed the factors as to why the world was looking at Hyderabad. Hyderabad ranked first in Office Space Occupancy Rate growth in the country, states a report from the JLL. Hyderabad was declared as the most livable city in the country by the same organization.
Global companies have made Hyderabad their home, impressed by the State government’s policies. “Hyderabad-based pharma companies have created vaccines, medicines, and drugs for several dreadful diseases. Hyderabad-based Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin for Covid getting approved and recognized is a proud moment for all of Hyderabadis. She added that a Pharma City on the outskirts of the city is getting set up by the government to develop and expand the pharma sector.
The Governor said, in tune with infrastructure development, the top priority was being accorded to health. The Telangana government has set up 225 commenced Basti Dawakhanas in the city, as a means to provide better medicare to the urban poor. Apart from teleconsultation, Soundararajan said, Basti Dawakhanas offer lab tests, medicines, and immunization free of cost.
