Thursday has ended up as Lucky Thursday for a farmer, Narasimha from Pembarthy, Janagam district in Telangana. Narasimha recently bought an eleven-acre land last month and was levelling it. During that, a pot of gold has been found. About 5kg gold and about 2kg silver were found in the treasure.
Narasimha thinks the gold belongs to the goddess and would build a temple there. But then, experts say it is not easy as he thinks. According to the Treasure Trove Act of 1878, the gold will be taken by the Government and may give him a share if no one else comes forward with proof of ownership.
The gold is being said to be from the Srikrishna Devaraya era. The local administration has reached the spot and weighed them in the presence of the farmer and sent them to the district treasury for safe custody. Very soon, Archaeological department officials will visit the area and will take up further excavation.
