With the curfew being announced by the Government of Telangana to control the spread of the virus and allow free movement for health care professionals, the day 1 of the curfew saw many offenders of the restricted movement rule after 8pm. The police and traffic police set up checkpoints at necessary locations but found an unexpected number of citizens flouting the curfew rule and also caused traffic. According to the rules of the current curfew all establishments and shops were to shut down by 8pm with zero activity beyond 8pm.
In accordance with this, restaurants, shopping malls, bars and other businesses shut their shops on or before 8 to comply with the rules. However the police were not expecting the normal citizens who are not part of providing any essential services to be out on the roads after 8pm. The Secunderabad Railway Station was jam packed with people travelling to and fro to various districts. Also as observed by the police the private taxis and autos which were not allowed beyond 8pm were also seen to be freely moving around the city beyond 9pm. Cab services were also seen to be breaking these rules and seen across the city picking and dropping passengers. With these happening there was a free movement for professionals offering essential services without any chaos.
