Sunrisers Hyderabad have finally found their way back into the IPL 2021 by registering their first win against Punjab Kings by 9 wickets at the MA Chidambaram Stadium , Chennai with Jonny Bairstow getting an excellent 63* to close the innings. The SRH have had some great opening performances at the start of this season but their middle order have failed cheaply and have failed to chase targets under 150 which is an easy target for a team with David Warner and Bairstow and excellent first class batsmen.
Todays match saw PBKS win the toss and bat first. The SRH team displayed some excellent bowling and fielding. Kane Williamson playing his first game this season added that kiwi twist to the fielding. PBKS openers failed to create an impact in the first powerplay with Khaleel Ahmed and Abhishek Sharma being the pick of the bowlers. Rashid Khan showed some great skill with his spin variation. The SRH restricted PBKS to a mere 121 and came out to bat with Warner and Bairstow displaying a great opening partnership and easing the innings. Bairstow played some exquisite shots and kept the run rate above par. This match was one of the biggest win margins for SRH at the venue.
