Hospitals in Hyderabad have been facing a tough time providing beds and other basic treatment to everyone who is knocking at their door. With the most unexpected rise of cases in the second wave the biggest of the hospitals have been forced to turn down patients or just keep them in waiting for hours before they are given a bed to seek medical help.
With this being a real crisis some of the hospitals are looking to and have already begun the process of tying up with hotels and banquet facilities to provide rooms and beds for patients with asymptomatic and mild symptoms of the virus to seek treatment there.
The hospitals have decided to provide the basic equipment to these hotels and have enough staff to adhere to such cases while hospitals can admit patients with severe and critical conditions. Hotels which have tied up with city’s leading hospitals have freed up as many as 100 beds to accommodate the ones who do not require constant medical intervention. Hotels have offered similar support by freeing up rooms and halls for quarantine facilities for mainly NRI’s and travellers from other states during the first wave and entire year of 2020. As this tie up helps hospitals free up space, hotels are yet to prepare a package for people who directly approach them for facility to treat themselves with medical supervision.
