The State Election Commission has been gearing up in a big way for the upcoming Municipal Polls that are scheduled on the 30th April. As of now there has been no signal of it being postponed in view of the rising cases of covid 19. It is said that the TSEC has written to the government in this regard and in order to follow the high court guidelines but there has been no response regarding as of yet.
The state government is not looking to postpone any of the election dates as of yet as the deadline for filling the nominations has ended recently and with 10 days left for campaigning. Besides this the electrons that are scheduled are only covering only two municipal corporations (Warangal, Khammam) and five municipalities (Siddipet, Jadcherla, Achampet, Nakrekal, Kothur). The ruling party has been extensively campaigning with an anticipation of holding the elections on the scheduled date and are looking to win again in their respective regions.
