Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar chaired a meeting with divisional officers on Saturday to announce the Standard Operating Procedures(SOPs) for the police personnel to be safe at work. Few crucial decisions are made with regard to the functioning of the department during the Covid crisis.
The Commissioner asked the police officials to immediately inform their superiors and isolate themselves if they test positive for the virus. Besides, the top cop also suggested taking precautions during arrests and also while controlling a mob.
Having said this, Anjani Kumar appealed to the people to not conduct rallies and protests during times of emergency. Furthermore, he suggested the citizens avoid in-person visits to the police stations and instead asked them to call the concerned police station, patrol car or the SHO.
At the same time, he advised the police not to have lunch together and instructed them to sanitise the premises, doorknobs, computers and vehicle steering wheels after each shift. Above all, strict instructions are passed to the police personnel to sanitise their hands before touching their family members.
A helpline number is floated for the use of the public. So, the people can reach the police through 9490616780, which also has a WhatsApp facility. And they can also avail the regular Dial 100 facility as well.
