According to doctors, the number of people admitted at hospitals across the city and under constant medical care, and in the ICU, nearly 40% of such patients are said to be obese. Obesity has been a severe issue for the patients getting into the recovery phase as certain injections fail to work on them.Doctors claim that obesity has also been one of the primary reasons for the increasing death rates in Telangana.
After a quick survey done by National Family Health Survey, our city has beaten Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Ahmedabad in terms of women and men being obese. In Hyderabad, women are more obese than men, and also a similar ratio is seen across the state. The main reason for obese people having a lower recovery rate is that they seem to have other comorbidities or other physical conditions or some chronic ailment that makes their treatment harder.
Many succumb to their body condition. The most significant factor that changes the game in terms of recovery is that obese people’s lungs have a lower capacity to expand and contract. Their fat makes the contraction difficult. Apart from obesity, cardiovascular problems are some of their pre-existing conditions that make medicines fail as well.
