Keeping in mind the difficulties that arise during home isolation, a group of 60 women at Meenakshi’s Sky Lounge aged community in Hitech City have come together to help out those families infected by Coronavirus by delivering food to those families for two weeks.
This includes three meals a day - from breakfast to dinner, through lunch. This initiative was launched in August last year in the gated community that has 400 flats. It is run on the lines of Sanjha Chula, which is from the Northern part of the country, where women take turns to share their home-cooked food with other families of the gated community. Under this initiative, a list of lunch and dinner slots is prepared on a common online platform as soon as someone from the community tests positive for the virus.
These women keep in touch with the affected families and cook according to their preferences - as in the amount of spice they consume in their meals, etc. Food is also delivered according to the lunch timings of the respective family, and cooking and delivery slots are planned accordingly, by these 60 women, on their common online platform. So far, 50 families have been helped under this initiative.
