The second wave of covid 19 has been bringing a regular life that slowly began at the end of 2020 to a complete standstill with the spiking cases and new restrictions, and a possibility of a nationwide lockdown. All social gatherings have been indefinetly stopped but people seem to be living their own life.
Despite all that has been going on and with business establishment and markets open with a strict guideline of a limited crowd, Somehow markets in Hyderabad don't indicate any stringent guidelines. People are seen at large daily in market places across the city. The carefree attitude of vendors and the mass negligence of the visitors is quite dangerous as the city's 24-hr case numbers are crossing the 10,000 mark quite often. The GHMC, precisely at the beginning of curfew restriction, identified close to 65+ containment zones and decided to set up barricades and follow necessary measures. Despite all these measures taken, people don't understand the depth of the state and country's crisis.
The weekly markets at various locations across the city are jam-packed with people having no sense of responsibility. Wearing the mask is the only rule that is followed. The rush at such places indicates sheer negligence and zero adherence to any other guidelines. Curfew timings have also been breached regularly by people, and law enforcement is trying their best to ensure people understand Hyderabad's delicate situation.
