A night curfew is currently under effect in Telangana, and all covid protocols are presently put in effect as well, or at least they seem to be. With Ramzan fast approaching, Hyderabad is witnessing huge gatherings.
This is especially true about all the markets near Charminar, which are witnessing huge crowds every day, with all Covid protocols going out the window. The second wave of Coronavirus is spreading rapidly in the country, which is not an exception in Hyderabad. However, there seems to be little concern for that ahead of Ramzan.
On the other hand, the state government is currently contemplating a weekend lockdown to be put into effect from the 8th of this month, following the Telangana High Court's orders. Several states in the country have already imposed a lockdown given the increasing number of cases. The government of Andhra Pradesh has imposed a partial lockdown, from 12 PM to 6 AM. However, the CS of Telangana clarified on Wednesday that the government is not contemplating imposing a lockdown in the state, as the cases continue to remain under control and since livelihoods would be severely affected by a lockdown.
