At Cyient Foundation MP Primary & ZP High School in Gachibowli, Mapmygenome, a Hyderabad headquartered genomics company, launched a drive-thru COVID19 testing facility.
Anyone who wants to get a Covid test done can enter the school premises and follow the markings for parking spots. There are standees with a barcode to the registration form, which can be filled online. This form requires age, names, contact details, and also an individual’s ID proof.
The executives assigned will approach the car to collect nasopharyngeal or oropharyngeal swab samples. There is a closed booth as well on the premises to collect samples for people who come on bikes or who decide to just walk in. Payment can be made to the executive or online. The team of Mapmygenome says that all Covid protocols and precautions are being followed at every step, and reports are sent online.
The company has two Covid testing labs – one at their corporate headquarters in Madhapur and one at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport Hyderabad. Both the labs are open 24/7. A branch office and Covid sample collection facility at Kukatpally is also available.
For COVID testing, people can visit the collection facility at Kukatpally, or the lab in Madhapur, or the new drive-thru facility at Gachibowli.
According to Mapmygenome CEO Anu Acharya, they already use CoviSafe VTMs that neutralise the virus while protecting the molecular structure. This drive-thru facility is an added safety measure that will enable their customers to give their samples for testing without worrying about being exposed to the virus while standing in the queue.
