This year marks the seventh anniversary of the Telangana Formation Day. It is the day when the Telangana dream has become a reality after several decades of perserverance and struggle. But then, the pandemic has halted the grand celebration of the eve for two years on a trot.
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Wednesday paid floral tributes to martyrs at Gun Park near the state Assembly. Public were not allowed and only the officials and important party leaders were present. He later hoisted the National flag at Pragathi Bhavan. Similar scenes continued across the state where the National flag was hoisted and celebrated in a simple manner. Prior to the Pandemic, the state formation day celebrations used to be on a very grand scale as the Government used to take it a moment of pride and self-respect.
Telangana Government used to have special events for the school children along with cultural programs and various competitions. Thanks to the pandemic, the class work is not happening in the schools and there is no scope for celebrations since the public gatherings were not allowed. The COVID second wave is slowly residing. Hopefully With vaccination and better preparedness, there would be no third wave and the Formation Day 2022 will be a grand spectacle.
