The Balapur Revenue authorities were asked to hand over five acres of land to HMDA immediately, which has put the proposed 'Jalpally Lake Rock Garden' project on accelerated mode, literally. Only last month, the rock garden bordering the lake was proposed, for which the government has sanctioned funds to the tune of Rs 9 cr.
According to the proposed plan, provision of parking area and pathways along with hand railing on the main embankment and emphasizing lake boundary besides food court zone are the sections of the project amplified by proper lightening and circular viewpoint.
However, enthralling artefacts and sculptures depicting animals and birds of different sizes are the core element behind the theme of the rock garden. On Thursday, Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy said, "In the Jalpally area, this is the first such unique initiative coming up that would surely attract the visitors in a huge number." She also added that extra focus should is needed to promote the boating facility in the lake besides all other sections sketched in the proposed plan.
She emphasized that every aspect of the project should be designed keeping in mind the expectations of people and as per the promotion of tourism in the area.
The Jalpally Lake under Balapur Mandal spreads over a space of 274 acres of land and offers the limits with Mailardevpally under Rajendranagar. The Jalpally Lake and encompassing regions are consistently in the features for contamination and shameless degree of infringements.
