Apollo Hospitals has conducted a mega COVID vaccination drive at HITEX on Friday for multiple corporate companies of the city. There are long serpentine queues seen at the convention center as people wait for their turn to take their jab. A video of the serpentine queue has been going viral on social media. The only solace is the maintenance of the social distance.
But then, it can be still organized on a better note .It makes no sense to call people all at a time and push them to inconvenience. Even though a social distance of 2-3 feet is maintained, science is still debated if a distance of 6 feet is enough. It is understandable if something is unavoidable but such a scenario can be easily avoided by implementing a slot system.
Meanwhile, Medicover hospitals in association with Telangana Government, Society for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC), and Cyberabad Police are going to organize Hyderabad's Biggest Vaccination Drive on coming Sunday (June 6th). The registrations have started as well for the same. These mega/largest/biggest drives which are more about publicity are certainly a recipe for disasters. Hopefully better sense prevails and slot systems, multiple counters, and venues will be adopted.
