HMDAhas undertaken several beautifications works at Necklace Road. The major highlight of these works is a Lakefront Park costing 7 Crore Rupees. Mumbai-based architect Kishore Pradhan had given the designs for the park, and the construction work is going on at a brisk pace. The construction of the waterfront park is underway on a seven-acre site adjacent to the waterfront on Necklace Road.
HMDA engineering department officials said work was already in full swing. The works were supposed to be completed by August, but there has been some delay due to the lockdown. The structural designs to be set up in the Lake Front Park are very crucial. They will have to be made outside and brought here. The constructions are being in between hundreds of trees without removing them.
Pedestrian trails, water channel deck with seating, glass deck and lakeside over the water body, innovative children's play area, pergolas with seating, and wooden seating are being set up in the park. There is also an elevated walkway which is very special. People can enjoy the beauty of Sagar by walking over the structural designs.
Also, beautiful plants were grown on three and a half acres of land at PV Narasimha Rao Ghat. HMDA undertook flower beds, pathways, hedge plants, landscape, and footbridge works at the cost of Rs. 41 lakhs. Arrangements have been made to see the largest national flag in Sanjeevaiah Park from here. A track is built for daily morning and evening walks. Five types of artificial green animals were erected using plants. HMDA Urban Forestry Department officials said a large number of different types of plants were planted as part of the beautification work.
