Hyderabad-based Rockwell Industries will be supplying WHO, PQS approved COVID 19 vaccination freezers to Dr Reddy’s Lab. This is prior to the rollout of the vaccination drive in India, wherein Sputnik V vaccines will be given out. The vaccination provided to India by Russia needs to be stored at -18 degrees to stay stable and potent. Rockwell Industries is a pioneer in commercial cold chain appliance manufacturing. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced that India will be getting free vaccines from June 21.
Unlike during the first round of vaccination, when mostly Covishield was given to people and Covaxin was given to many others, now India will be giving vaccines made in other countries also. Initially, Modi’s slogan was to administer indigenous vaccines.
However, as the situation deteriorated due to the second wave of COVID 19 and severe backlash from the public, the Narendra Modi government had decided to seek help from other nations, and now Indians will get a variety of vaccines approved by WHO.
This facilitates the need for a cold supply chain, and companies like Rockwell are providing the necessary infrastructure to make the massive vaccination drive a success.
