Cafe Niloufer in Lakdikapul is one of the most popular landmarks in Hyderabad. The cafe has been operational since 1978 and is still very popular with foodies of Hyderabad with two branches in Lakdikapul and Banjara Hills. Anumula Baburao, the owner of the cafe who started his career as a Chaiwala grew up as a businessman. He is now inspiring many by offering free breakfast and lunch every day at MNJ Cancer Hospital in Lakdikapul.
"Ours was a poor family. I am from a small village in the Adilabad district. My father sold our dairy cow for 100 Rupees to purchase tenth-class books. I could not pursue higher studies due to family circumstances. After the establishment of Niloufer Cafe, even though I grew up financially, I know the value of hunger, and I am trying my best to feed hundreds of people every day," Baburao says.
"I saw the relatives of the patients at MNJ who were starving. I noticed that some poor people could not even afford to buy the cooking utensils. I have decided to offer free tiffin in the morning, lunch in the morning. We currently offer free breakfast for up to 400 patients and their relatives every day and free lunch for 300 people. I am trying to serve tiffin with my own hands in the morning as it gives me great satisfaction. God is blessing me with good money and I am serving the people with some of it," he added.
