Traffic police are focusing on waterlogging points where floodwaters can stop on roads in the city. 184 water logging points have already been identified in the Greater Hyderabad range. Similarly, the focus is on traffic jams in these areas. The department has been chalking out plans for better traffic management in these areas.
Water is dangerously logging in some areas due to metro dividers and also at eighteen places on main roads within the three commissionerates. When the monsoon season arrives, motorists in those areas face severe difficulties. There will be heavy traffic jams in the evening. Traffic police have already reviewed the water logging points with GHMC and water board officials in the wake of the weather department warnings.
Rescue teams have been equipped with motors, 25 traffic cranes, and 19 types of disaster equipment to immediately remove water from the roads. The rescue teams and the necessary equipment will be kept on standby at these places to ease the traffic hassles whenever it rains.
