Liquor and its demand have been soaring ever since the government allowed liquor shops to be open in the state's relaxation period and then further increased opening time just like other places. As a result, the unlock of the city has seen pubs, alcohol-serving places, and wine shops full of people all week and overflowing on weekends.
The liquor lovers in the city are set to experience an offer like never before. Though we have seen heavy demand for alcohol as people, the state is still not satisfied with its business and promoting the opening up for alcohol serving places. The state has proposed that licensed bars will now serve free alcohol to their customers. This scheme will run for one day in the week at select bars and places. Apart from the free plan the bars and party places are asked to offer big discounts on weekends.
The whole scheme proposed by the government is to woo customers to visit the bar to sit and have the free drink and attract them to buy more drinks with attractive offers. The free drink can be of any category(Beer, rum, whiskey, vodka, gin) available at select places, and free snacks like chicken or veg snacks are some of the other exciting offers.
The state is under a deficit of 500 crores, and this attempt is to bring the revenue generation on track and boost many places which are just empty due to no customers. Free schemes will bring customers, and the exciting offers will make them stay for another drink. This idea should be able to meet the losses and get back on track. The government also addressed social media attention to the videos of zero social distancing at pubs going viral and said that pubs owners are instructed to follow protocols and only vaccinated staff should be working and serving customers.
