G. Raghuma Reddy, Chairman and Managing Director, South Telangana Electricity Distribution Company, said that a 33 KV switching station has been set up at Madhapur with the objective of providing uninterrupted power supply to the IT corridor.
On Wednesday, he inaugurated the 33kV switching station, built at a cost of Rs 8 crore, at 132/33kV substation in Madhapur. He further said that they are providing the necessary infrastructure to supply better power considering the future needs of the rapidly expanding IT corridor on the west side of the city.
"We are setting up power lines, substations, and transformers to supply power to software companies 24 hours a day," he said. He explained that the switching station was constructed to withstand the load on the network due to the heavy usage of power. The department has used the Lockdown to assess the impact of the network and came up with measures to ensure an uninterrupted power supply.
