Officials of the Urban Biodiversity Department have decided to inculcate the habit of growing plants in every house under the GHMC limits. As part of Haritha Haram's seventh installment, one crore plant was planted and planned to distribute six plants to each household.
To this effect, a total of 600 nurseries have been set up in LB Nagar, Kukatpally, Secunderabad, Charminar, Khairatabad, and Serilingampally zones. Twenty-five lakh plants were ready in these nurseries set up in the ward offices and vacant spaces. Six plants are being distributed free of charge to every person from Monday.
Basil, Ashwagandha, Aloe Vera, Lemongrass, Lavender, Pomegranate, Lemon, Neem, Jasmine, and Hibiscus are available at the respective centers. Those who are interested can find their nearest nursery details on the GHMC website. Those who want more plants should give their Aadhar details to the concerned authorities.
