Telangana Government has decided to set up another IT hub in the capital. It has planned to set up an IT hub in the vicinity of Hyderabad because of the growing demand for IT and other related companies in the coming days. Kollur and Edulanagulapally areas, which are very close to the Outer Ring Road, have been identified as suitable for this purpose.
HMDA will undertake the project in the process of land pooling. The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) has identified 640 acres of land 1.3 km from the Outer Ring Road for IT and ITES companies that will be set up in this hub on the lines of HITEC City in Hyderabad. To this end, HMDA has drafted the Regional Development Plan. It has to be approved by the state government.
The Government has decided to allocate 600 yards of developed plots per acre to the owners for the land to be acquired as part of the land pooling mechanism. HMDA will mobilize the land like how it is mobilized for the Hyderabad Metro Rail Project in Uppal in 2017. Of the 640 acres identified by HMDA, a large percentage are Government, ceiling, surplus (assigned), assigned lands. All of these are vacant as well as in the control of the agricultural department. Once the Government gives approval for the plan, HMDA will pool the remaining lands under the land pooling mechanism.
