Khairatabad Ganesh who is one of the most unique in the world will appear before the devotees this year as Sri Panchamukha Rudra Mahaganapati. The model of the Ganesha has been unveiled on Saturday. The festival committee has revealed that Ganesha is going to be erected at a height of 40 feet this time.
In view of the pandemic, the height of the idol was reduced from 66 feet to 27 feet last year. The height reduction has happened for the first time in 66 years of Khairatabad Ganesh history. The idol’s height would only increase every year. Led by sculptor Rajendran, 100s of artisans from West Bengal will shape the idol.
Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsava Samiti general secretary Dr. Bhagwant Rao said that the Vinayaka Chaviti festival is going to be organized this year in accordance with the COVID Safety measures. Speaking at a press conference at Siddiambar Bazaar on Saturday, he revealed that Vinayaka Chaviti festivities will start on September 10th. The committee requested the government to provide raw materials to idol makers, including natural eco-friendly colors, on time. So that the idol can be built quickly.
