The COVID-19 cases in the state are more or less stable, according to the state bulletin. But various media reports suggest that hospitals in Hyderabad are witnessing a heaving rush for Oxygen and ICU beds indicating the arrival of the third wave. The government is even trying to bring the techies back to the offices.
The numbers of Kerala and Maharashtra are already indicating the same. Meanwhile, researchers led by Mathukumalli Vidyasagar and Manindra Agrawal at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Hyderabad and Kanpur respectively predict that the third wave may peak in October. However, the good news is that the third wave is not going to be as brutal as the second wave.
During the second wave, India reported 400,000-plus daily cases during the peak and the wave came down after that. Delta variant of the Coronavirus is causing mayhem across the country. Experts warn that this variant can spread as easily as chickenpox and can be passed on by vaccinated people, which can fuel the surge.
