Road accidents in the city are just getting unbearable as the number has been quite alarming. People are reckless and irresponsible and take unwanted risks of drinking and driving, overspeeding, no helmets, or no seat belts. The strictest vigilance in city limits and outskirts, especially near ORR's, is not working out as accidents continue to occur.
Five people were involved in the recent accident where one of them succumbed to the damage when the car in which the five of them were traveling hit a lorry near Rajendra Nagar, ORR. The deceased is a woman identified as Sasha Nisha, traveling with her husband and family to Guntur from Nashik. After the accident, the police reached the scene and found that the woman was dead and got the four others shifted to the hospital.
The police also found that the truck carrying a marble load was driving in the first lane, which is not meant for heavy vehicles, and violating major highway rules. The current scenario of accidents does not paint a good picture in terms of the city's development in civic sense and road responsibility. People need to understand one cannot drive or ride with the singular responsibility of personal safety. Still, the safety of the people who move throughout the road is also our responsibility.
