Telangana Government is considering allowing the fifth show in theaters so as to help the Telugu film industry and single-screen theaters which are hit by the pandemic. Cinematography Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav chaired a high-level meeting with the Chief Secretary and secretaries of various departments on Tuesday about the issues faced by the film industry.
The representatives of the Film Chamber and Producers Council have also attended the meeting. They discussed allowing the screening of a fifth show and the waiver of various taxes for the theaters during the period of closure in the Lockdown. The minister briefed the media after the meeting.
"We have discussed allowing the fifth show, a decision will be taken in the next meeting. We also discussed the waiver of minimum power charges for the period the theaters are closed. A single-window permit system for shooting will be introduced soon. CM KCR wants Hyderabad to be a cinema hub. We will discuss in the next meeting about the incentives to be extended for the exhibitors to tide over this crisis," he said.
