The High Court of Telangana finally served justice to a horrible rape incident by a Food delivery executive as the High Court sentenced the accused to 25 years of rigorous imprisonment.
This issue of possible molestation and rape of a 4-year-old girl came to light when a doctor at Niloufer Hospital lodged a complaint stating the baby that was admitted had been diagnosed with baby battering syndrome. A syndrome talks about children and babies being subjected to violence. The doctor found bruises and injuries near her sexual parts apart from her hands and face, and the doctor proved those bruises to be sexual abuse incidents.
A medical team collected samples from the family members, and on recording the 4-year-old's statement, the shocking truth was out. The girl's father's younger brother used to molest and abuse her during the absence of the family members. Since the incident, the parents have been separated, and the girl is under the custody of the childline authorities. However, the police arrested the delivery boy.
After months of examining all details in this case and hearing the witnesses, the court convicted the accused on Tuesday under sections 376 (2), 506 IPC r/w 6 of POCSO(Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act, 2012. The accused is not just sentenced to 25 years of imprisonment but is fined Rs.20,000, and this amount has to be paid to the victim. Section 6 under the POSCO Act has also been slapped on the delivery executive for aggravated sexual abuse. The court has also ordered the Metropolitan Legal Service Authority to pay 4 Lakh as compensation to the victim.
