Authorities are preparing to move more than 1,700 polluting industries outside the Outer to reduce pollution caused by industries in the city. While vacant lands are ready in various industrial areas to relocate some industries, lands have been identified within Rangareddy, Medak, Sangareddy, and Vikarabad districts to procure additional required lands.
The departments have prepared a 33-month agenda from land acquisition to the relocation of industries. In 2013, the then erstwhile Andhra Pradesh government issued orders to evacuate polluting industries. Since then, it has not happened. But the government finally decided not to delay the relocation of polluting industries.
Firstly, 625 industries in the red category and 1071 industries in the orange category will be shifted. The red category includes Pharma-188, Engineering-119, Paints-11, Metals-172, Rubber-2, Textile-11, Chemicals-121, Paper / Plastic-3, Food / Beverages-7, Other-41. Total: 625 industries. Orange category includes Pharma-176, Engineering-194, Paints-47, Metals-243, Rubber-40, Textile-1, Chemicals-34, Paper / Plastic-152, Food / Beverages-80, Other-104, Total 1071 Industries.
The entrepreneurs will be allowed to use the existing commercial plots for commercial, residential, and multipurpose use without loss. By paying 50 percent of the current market price, 10 percent of the plots can be used for commercial purposes. Rest can be used as IT, residential areas as part of other requirements. The conversion fee is 40% of the market price.
