Telugu actor Sudheer Babu will be testing his luck at the ticketing office with the Friday release, Sridevi Soda Center. The actor is a professional badminton player before foraying into films. For a long time, we have been hearing him doing the Biopic of Badminton Legendary Player and Coach Pullela Gopichand.
While the news about the project is heard for a long time, the film is yet to go on floors. In a chit-chat with Nearby News, Sudheer Babu reveals what is going on. "I am very excited to do the film. It has been delayed since the project has changed the hands of three production houses," he said.
"Firstly, the film was planned by someone here (Hyderabad). Then, it has gone to the Pan-India level. Now, the rights of the biopic are with Junglee Pictures of The Times Group. It is going to be made on a very large scale. The project is certainly on cards but it will take a while before it materializes," Sudheer Babu told us.
A former Indian badminton player from Hyderabad, Gopichand Pullela is now the Chief National Coach for the India national badminton team. He is behind the making of some of the finest Badminton who represented India at the international level. He received the Arjuna Award in 1999, the Dronacharya Award in 2009, and the Padma Bhushan – India's third highest civilian award – in 2014.
