The cybercrime menace in the city has constantly been targeting people from all walks of life. It is continually duping people to tunes of different services or extra money and siphoning off those innocent people's savings.
Unfortunately, by the time the victims realize they have been duped and they approach the law enforcement, it is too late but to hope that something as such pops up again, which could help the cyber police track frauds. On the other hand, the Cyber Police has been trying to educate and create awareness to the maximum level to ensure people don't give in to any unauthentic sources of money, business, property, or matrimonials. Despite this, some people fall prey to the silliest of tricks.
To ensure that there is something done about it, The Cyberabad Police started a program called DiLSeY – Digital Literacy to Secure Youth initiated with the help of the Society for Cyberabad Security Council. This council equipped educated and equipped their first batch of 101 employees from different IT organizations who will be a part of the Cybercrime cell and will be approaching different people in the society to give them a proper one on one insight about cybercrimes on social media, online apps, games, fraudulent links, and QR Payment scanners.
This first set of equipped employees have been presented a certificate in an exclusive event by Cyberabad Police Commissioner M.Stephen Raveendra. The commissioner who presided over this meeting thanked the volunteers for their efforts and also appreciated VC Sajjanar, The Ex-Commissioner of Cyberabad Police who originally started this program. The commissioner also hinted that 100 more employees should notch up the number in the coming batch to broaden the reach of the Cybercrime cell and their way to spread awareness.
