Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav had announced that the government was not imposing any restrictions on the height of Ganpati statues. He asked the Pandal organizers to bring to the notice of the Government in case of any difficulties encountered with the Police. However, he asked the organizers to take steps to set up statues depending on the situation in the area.
Talasani said that the Chaviti celebrations will be held in a grand manner. He asked everyone to cooperate to make the Ganesh celebrations a success following the Corona Rules. He also instructed authorities to remove silt in Hussain Sagar, Saroor Nagar Mini Tank Bund, Safil Guda, and Miralam ponds to immerse more idols. It was suggested that necessary static and mobile cranes be set up and steps are taken to ensure that the staff works in three shifts to ensure easy immersion.
Minister Indira Reddy said that under the auspices of the PCB, clay Ganapatis will be distributed free of cost. HMDA, GHMC, and the revenue department will donate 1.6 Lakh free clay idols this year. The meeting was attended by CS Somesh Kumar, DGP Mahender Reddy, Ganesh festival organizers, local MLAs, MLCs, and officials.
