The state government has big plans to expand the IT corridor west of Greater Hyderabad to the south. It has been decided at a high level to set up an IT hub at Budvel, in Rajendranagar Mandal with international standards to match the HITEC City in Hyderabad. The plan is also to bring the Urban Center of Excellence on 45 acres with state-of-the-art infrastructure.
The officials have started the exercise for it. Apart from the cities in the country, plans are afoot to make the Urban Center of Excellence in Budvel an IT hub for several cities in Asia. The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) is inviting the best designs from national and international companies for this. Designs will be accepted until the end of this month. A committee of experts will select five designs.
The state government will finally select the top design. 165 acres of government land in Survey Nos. 282 and 299 in Budvel were handed over to HMDA. Of this, 57.15 acres have been allotted to various companies and 107.25 acres are currently available. Several companies have already asked the government to allocate these lands owned by HMDA. More than 30 companies were already in talks with the government. Accordingly, the State Government plans to set up an IT cluster on the 107.25 acres available in Budvel.
