The Government of Telangana has been making some perfect money this year in terms of auctioning government lands off within the city limits of Hyderabad and in certain areas in the outskirts of the city. The state will continue to identify government-owned lands which are of no use at the moment and try to auction them off until Dusshera.
The expected amount that the Government will make out of these auctions is a good Rs.20,000 crore. To continue their ongoing run of auctioning lands, the Government will soon sell off the BR Ambedkar Transport Bhavan (RTA Office) located at the prime location of Khairtabad. This comes after the Government had a successful auction in 2 phases at Kokapet and Khanamet.
The BR Ambedkar Bhavan, an RTA Office, is spread out across 6 acres and shares its premises with the city joint transport commissioner's office, ample parking space filled with seized vehicles, and a garden of 1.5 acres.
The entire space is said to be sold in the coming days, and a confirmation of whether the whole land will be sold in one go or divisions of it will be made and sold in phases. However, there is a slight protest by some departments working at the RTA office against the Government selling off the lands around the premises and have written to the Government to reconsider their decision.
