Rebel Lady Kangana Ranaut is in the city for the promotions of her September 10th release, Thalaivii wherein she plays Late Jayalalithaa. Nearby News team caught up with the talented actress for a brief chit-chat in which she opens up about her relationship with Hyderabad and the people here.
"Hyderabad is not a new city for me. I have shot here for Manikarnika and now, for Thalaivii. It is one of my most favorite places. Coming from extreme weather like Manali and all, I appreciate the places where weather is pleasant all the year and of course, the food you have here," the actress animatedly narrates her experience with the city.
"The lifestyle of the people here is also different. The houses here are also a lot different from what we have in Mumbai where there are flats over flats, buildings over buildings. This is a beautiful city and I appreciate it. Whenever I get time, I buy lots of weaves and go to markets for shopping. Many of the joints here are my all-time favorite. It is lovely to be here always," Kangana says.
People often mention the tyranny of distance when they mention Bollywood does not look beyond the North. "Probably, you are right. But I feel people here are so better and warm than people in Mumbai. The other day, we have a special screening of Thalaivii in Chennai. So many directors have attended it. In Mumbai, we do not have such camaraderie. People do not share others' joy unless there is some internal understanding," the actress elaborates.
Thalaivii is the Biopic of sort of Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa. But Kangana says they are not into the controversial angles of the late leader's life. "Controversies are all about people's perception. They tend to see how they like. We do not go into that in this film. Thalaivii is the celebration of Jaya Amma's life," she tells.
