The cyclone Gulab has shown its colors in the city as spells of heavy rain lashed the city on Thursday night and Saturday night, creating new troubles and more possibilities of such rains occurring until October. The South Central Railway, which is quite rampant in the cyclone predicted states and majorly goes to those states from Secunderabad junction, has decided to address this threat by canceling trains to multiple locations until the routes are free from risk of continuous and violent thunderstorms.
Trains to Andhra, Orissa, West Bengal and Maharashtra see cancellations as a safety measure of the ongoing cyclone Gulab. The direct trains scheduled for Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday stand canceled, and the effect of the hurricane over the next 24 hours. Bhubaneswar – Secunderabad, Bhubaneswar – Tirupati, Tirupati – Bhubaneswar, Puri – Chennai Central, Chennai Central – Puri, Sambalpur – H.S.Nanded, H.S.Nanded – Sambalpur, Rayagada – Guntur are the first set of trains that were called off by South Central Railway and Central Railway for Sunday and Monday.
While the risk factor of Hyderabad and Secunderabad junction due to Gulab is reducing, cities on the coast of Andhra and Orissa are seeing heavy rains and might see more cancellations if the situation persists.
