Actor Sonu Sood has been a part of controversies these days as six of his hideouts were recently raided by the IT department. The IT raid questioned the funds that came to his foundation. Sood has been accused of tax evasion as well. He spoke to the media about the income tax raids and his plans to open a hospital in Hyderabad.
Sonu said that any foundation has a time limit of one year to use the funds they have received. If funds are not used in that one year, they can be used next year. These are the rules. He added that he listed this foundation a few months ago, close to the second wave of the pandemic. Otherwise, during the first wave, when he started helping migrants, he had people who offered to book buses for migrants.
Sood further added that he started raising funds in the last five months. He has more than seven months left to use these funds as per the rules. He reaffirms that he is not wasting his hard-earned or people's money. Twenty-five percent of the brand endorsements he earns and sometimes 100% go directly to the foundation. If any brand donates money, he advertises them for free. Funds in the foundation are also his personal funds, which he has donated.
Talking about his plans on opening a hospital in Hyderabad, Sonu Sood said that many of the people they had for help were treated in Hyderabad. The infrastructure of some hospitals in the city is on a different level. He says that his plan is to get people treated free of cost through this charitable hospital, whether Sonu Sood is there or not.
