Reaching Mumbai by flight from the city takes a 1hour and 20minutes, and by train, it takes up to 13 hours. But soon people will want to take the train that will take them to Mumbai in just 3 hours. A recent bullet train project between the two cities is in talks. A feasibility report and proposal are ready for future discussion and decision-making by the state and central government.
The bullet train will soon cover a 650km distance between Hyderabad to Mumbai at a super-fast speed of a bullet train within 2hrs 50 minutes. The route between the two cities will cover 11 stations if there is a nod to proceed. This proposal has come from the National High-Speed Rail Corporation(NHRC) in Mumbai. They have discussed the plan over an elaborate presentation in the presence of the NHSR General Manager and Thane's deputy collector for land acquisition.
This project will have its starting point from Thane, Maharashtra. The project will be a green corridor covering Thane, Navi Mumbai, Lonavala, Pune, Baramati, Pandharpur, Solapur, Gulbarga, Vikarabad, and Hyderabad. As the project goes by few more stations might be included based on future reports. The number of bullet trains that will be designated for this project is not yet confirmed. According to a detailed analysis by the deputy collector in Thane, approximately 1200 hectares of land will be required for the entire project. The NHSR department in the state is yet to make a statement on this elaborate plan, and soon, the officials from both the states will preside over the meeting and discuss the detailed project report and all other prospects.
