Inspired by the 100 percent vaccination drive, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar has directed GHMC Commissioner Lokesh Kumar to increase greenery by 100 percent in 4846 colonies that come under Greater Hyderabad. In the first phase, GHMC has undertaken a special drive in sixteen colonies with the goal of 100% greenery. Initially, all these colonies completed the planting process.
To this end, under the leadership of the respective Zonal Commissioners, a planting program has been initiated in the colonies to ensure greenery in all the vacant places. Under this, work has been successfully completed in 16 colonies and we are moving ahead with the task of completing work in the remaining colonies is being taken on a war footing.
GHMC officials explain that greenery work will be completed in all the colonies by the end of next month. In the colonies where 100 percent of the plants have been planted, special officers have been assigned to manage them on a colony basis. Ten workers will work under the supervision of these officers.
These are the sixteen colonies of the first phase:
LB Nagar: KVN Reddy Nagar Colony
Charminar: Sunrise Colony, Janachaitanya Colony
Khairatabad: Padmanabha Nagar Colony, Green Valley Colony
Serilingampally: AG Colony, Gulmohar Colony, Gautami Enclave
Kukatpally: Meenakshi Estates, Vokshith Hills View Colony, BHEL
Secunderabad: Harivihar Colony, Patel Enclave Colony, Gautam Nagar Colony, Vayupuri Colony
