The daily rise in fuel prices for the sixth consecutive day has left many Hyderabdis fuming. After the latest revision, petrol price in the city stood at Rs 108.33 per liter and diesel at Rs 101.27. Thus, the fuel prices have been hiked by 62 paise and 76 paise respectively, which is highly abnormal and unfair.
The consequence of this upward trend is adversely affecting people from all sectors of life. Vegetable vendors, Cabs associations, motorists, and others are expressing their anguish in several ways. Some are planning to protest the unfair fuel price hike, while others are demanding the government to roll back the prices.
As per Telangana Gig And Platform Workers Union (TGPWU) founder-president Sheikh Salauddin, as the services like Uber, Ola, Zomato, Swiggy, and other apps have not hiked their drivers' fare, the fuel price hike is affecting them directly. So, as if the lockdown wasn't harsh enough, now the hike in fuel price is killing them.
