Hyderabad
L&T Metro officials have taken steps to provide better facilities for commuters at metro stations. Centers are being set up at each of the 65 metro stations along the three corridors specifically for parking of passenger vehicles, as well as for vehicles coming to pick them up.
Boards have been set up with details of pick-up and drop-off points for cab/auto. There will be security personnel to keep a vigil on the vehicles so that they are parked well and also do not stay too long blocking the space for other vehicles. Metro stations are being set up to enable city dwellers to travel smoothly.
COVID-19 rules are being followed by opening entry and exit gates at fifteen metro stations to cater to passenger congestion. The focus is on regulating private vehicles at major metro stations and providing parking for oncoming and outgoing metro commuters. Hyderabad Metro Rail is badly battered due to the Pandemic impact. The authorities are trying to bring back the project on its feet. The first target is to get ridership to Pre-COVID levels.
