The covid19 pandemic that took a slight backseat amid unlocks and rapid vaccinations is slowly returning to its prime as cases are beginning to rise, and so are the deaths associated with it. Health experts that predict every wave or a spell of the virus also predict the age group it might target and indicate how people can be cautious.
With the current rise of cases, health experts are warning men to control their outdoor activities as the current patterns show a higher rate of infections in men than women. After deeper research by government and commercial healthcare organizations have shown that 99% of the currently active cases in the state are all vaccine breakthrough which is the contraction of the virus by a person even after being fully inoculated.
Out of the 99%, nearly 70% of breakthroughs occur in men. So not just regular average men, even men with comorbidities, need to watch out in the next few weeks. Dr. Kishan Rao, Head of the Telangana Private Hospitals and Nursing Homes Association, recently cleared out the wide misconception of people that the vaccine protects people from infection. The vaccine only protects people from mortality. The breakout depends on how the antibodies work on a particular human and whether or not the person has an immunity good enough to keep the virus away. Since men are slightly more outdoor than women, they need to understand the growing danger, which could be the start of the third wave, limit their social activities, and maintain covid protocols.
