Hyderabad
The Telangana police, which has a strong focus on cannabis smuggling, is witnessing eye-popping facts. Police until now believed marijuana is only coming from across the border. But in the heart of Hyderabad, they are shocked to learn that cannabis plants are grown in flower pots and sold too.
A gang is growing cannabis plants at a house in April in Secunderabad. The man is cultivating cannabis by setting up seven large flower pots at home. From time to time, the leaves from these plants are collected, processed, and sold in Hyderabad.
It has been going on for more than a year and was recently raided by the police. The flower pots were destroyed and all the members of the gang were arrested. All the arrested members are employees. On the one hand, they are doing small jobs and on the other hand, are growing cannabis plants at home like this as a side business.
Another similar incident took place in Shamshabad two days ago. A laborer from Uttar Pradesh is arrested by the Police. He has got addicted to marijuana for some years. With this, he grew a cannabis plant at home for his own. For four months, he cuts the leaves from the plant, processed them, and started using them on his own. The police department is shocked by back-to-back incidents and is now focusing on this home-grown Cannabis cultivation. The focus is on farmhouses on the outskirts.
