Hyderabad
It is well known that Numaish - the annual shopping fair is organized every year at the Nampally Exhibition Ground in the city. Numaish was suspended for the last two years due to the Corona pandemic. However, with Corona's decline this year, the Exhibition Society began efforts to have Numaish this year.
In this context, the exhibition society has filed an application with the government seeking permission to conduct Numaish in January next year. Exhibition Society Secretary Be Prabha Shankar said that they are expecting a positive response from the government. Permission must also be obtained from the GHMC, Police, Fire Services, Electricity, Roads, and Buildings Departments.
Given that Telangana Government is known for its liberal attitude in such relaxations, the permission is likely. Nearly 2,500 stalls are set up each year at the Numaish. But there is a possibility of setting up a smaller number of stalls this year. Due to Corona, stalls coming from Middle East countries will be denied permission. Nearly Rs. 15 crore revenue is likely to be collected. Numaish will be held every year from January 1st to February 15th.
