The Corona pandemic has caused serious trouble not only for cinema but also for theater owners. Many theaters in the Hyderabad metropolis were closed due to the corona impact. During the times, there were no multiplexes, people used to flock to the Amba Theater in Mehedipatnam.
Back then, the theater used to be a popular landmark of Hyderabad and the audience had to book a ticket a few days in advance to see a movie in this theater. But then, the theater is all set to become history. The theater, which was closed due to the corona, has not reopened since.
Now it has been demolished. Will a shopping complex be built there? Or Will a multiplex come up there? is to be known. The Amba Theater opened in 1979 on 4,500 yards of land. Owner Dr. B Krishna Reddy and Organizer Nimmala Sadanandam Gowda said that it was demolished due to a lack of patronage from the audience.
