Hyderabad Metro Rail MD NVS Reddy said that the number of Metro Rail passengers in the metropolis is steadily increasing and train usage is improving. The 'Suvarna Scheme', which was being implemented with the intention of increasing the number of passengers after COVID-19, is becoming popular, NVS Reddy said.
"If you pay for 20 trips through the Suvarna Scheme card, Metro Rail will give you an additional 10 trips for free. This made it possible for travelers to get 30 trips for as little as 20 trips. From October 18th to 30th, 40,000 passengers availed of the scheme, Metro Rail authorities said.
The five who bought the card through a lucky draw were selected with the intention of further promoting the scheme. Erram Rajasekhar, Mounika, PV Srikanth, Rajasekhar Reddy, and Sri Bindu got picked in the Lucky draw, and Metro MD NVS Reddy presented them the mementos at a function organized at the Ameerpet Metro Rail station premises on Monday evening.
Speaking on the occasion, NVS Reddy said that Metro trains currently carry 2.30 lakh passengers daily and hoped that the number would soon reach four lakh. L&T MD, CEO KVB Reddy said that our Metro Rail has performed better than other cities in the country in the aftermath of the COVID-19 outbreak.
