On Tuesday, the visitors to the Nehru Zoological Park witnessed a horror of a 31-year-old G. Sai Kumar climbing onto a boulder in the area of an African Lion moat and trying to jump into the lion's enclosure. The zoo authorities' statement says that a person was crawling across a boulder of the African Lion moat area at around 3.30 pm, where the lions are released in the exhibited enclosure at the zoo park.
Sai Kumar somehow managed to gain entry into this strictly prohibited area. Visitors who spotted him began shouting, asking him not to jump into the enclosure. He did try to jump, but the staff at the zoo immediately arrived at the spot. They caught him and handed him over to the Bahadurpura police station, where a complaint has been lodged against him.

Station house officer of Bahadurpura police station, D Durga Prasad, said that this guy could not give any satisfactory answer on being quizzed. Sai Kumar told them he was looking for diamonds that he believed were hidden in the lion's enclosure. The police said that going his talks, he appeared to be mentally unsound and disturbed.
This is not the first time someone tried to enter a lion enclosure. In 2016, a 35-year-old man also jumped into the lion moat area and waded towards the lioness. He was in an inebriated condition and escaped unhurt, luckily.
